Abstract
The case of the sliding roof in not a mystery in the classic sense of Sherlock Holmes. It is, however, a mystery to many jurisdictions experiencing this type of roof failure, only once in a great whilte. The photographs accompanying this article demonstrate a failure sometimes experienced in gabled roofs. This article discusses some causes, reconstruction & precautionary steps.
