1989 SPI PFCD Spray polyurethane foam blisters - Their causes, types, prevention and repair

To obtain a copy of a specific publication, users should contact the publication's publisher directly.

Abstract
Although blisters are sometimes not aesthetically pleasing, they should not be removed and/or repaired unless it appears that their presence will adversely affect the water tightness of the sprayed polyurethane foam system. This also applies to blisters in built-up and single ply membrane systems. The unnecessary repair of blisters in a sprayed polyurethane foam roofing system can lead to leaks and premature roof problems.
