Inland high wind construction issues for the central and eastern United States

Abstract
Whenever a majorhurricane occurs on the east coast or a major earthquake occurs on the west coast it is big national news. This us understandable since one such event has the potential of massive damage, numerous injuries and deaths. An awareness of issues regarding inland high winds and tornadoes in the central and eastern US is not as well understood since the effects of individual storms are not as dramatic. This article shows the importance of the inland high-wind and tornado isues, and offers some thoughts on why damage, injury and deaths from inland high wind occur.
