Eligibility Requirements

  • Two years of experience as a service and maintenance technician are recommended but not required for applicants.
  • If an applicant uses a torch in his or her work, he or she must be CERTA-certified or have an equivalent credential from another organization for safely applying torch-related roofing products.

Certification Exam

The technician submits video and pictures of his or her service work via a mobile app (NRCA will provide a link to the app). NRCA will send the submission to a Qualified Assessor, an independent roof expert, to review and score the submitted work.
