The PROCertified Roofing Foreman certification ensures that a foreman has extensive technical and safety knowledge, communication and leadership skills.

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible to become an NRCA PROCertified Roofing Foreman, an applicant must have experience and working knowledge of roof system installation practices and industry-specific safety practices to recognize when an installer is not following manufacturer requirements or is violating a safety regulation.

Applicants can demonstrate their knowledge and experience one of two ways:

Option 1: Hold an NRCA PROCertified roof system installer certification

Option 2: Have two or more years of experience overseeing roof system installation as a roofing foreman

Eligibility also requires a supervisor to verify in writing he or she has observed an applicant consistently

  • Responding to safety and quality violations in a timely fashion
  • Motivating installers
  • Modeling professional behavior
  • Demonstrating effective leadership

An applicant’s employer must validate his or her work experience, skills and knowledge.

PROCertification Application Fees

Option 1: One-time payment
Submit an application and pay the full certification fee. This option is great for those who do not want to be concerned with ongoing payments.

Certification Renewal

To renew your certification, you must complete training within the three-year renewal cycle. Training can take place in a classroom, real-world or online environment. You can work with manufacturers, distributors, contractors and NRCA to stay on top of training. Be sure to log your training hours and certificates to show NRCA when you’re ready to renew!

The PROCertification renewal process allows NRCA PROCertified® individuals to demonstrate their commitment to continuing education and professionalism. PROCertification Roof System Installer and Roofing Foreman certification renewal is required every three years.
