Abstract
This paper (which is presented in Spanish) is the result of work carried out by a group of manufacturers from ANFI, and contractors of roofing materials together from the Polytechnic University of Madrid. Based on work carried out by the University, a proposal was made for the desing and construction of the first ecological roof controlled by gauges. This roof is testing different types of roofing materials, sand and vegetation, while constantly monitoring the most important parameters, i.e., temperature, relative humidity, solar energy, speed and direction of the wind, etc. The objective being to achieve a comprehensive study of the temperature of the roof's thermal characteristics, temperature gauges were installed within the different layers of the roofing system. Every minute, the device takes a reading of the temperature and forwards the information to a computer were the data is stored. This experimental roofing system enables data collection and analysis so that data relating to the above parameters is both processed and stored. Moreover it is possible to get connected to the Internetof modem via remote terminals in order to check the data at that moment in time or read stored information. Interesting conclusions can be made regarding energy savings and environmental conditions.
