Abstract
Polyiso (polyisocyanurate) is an important insulation material that has successfully overcome environmental and performance challenges for over 30 years. Recently, concerns about its lmv mean temperature performance relative to a mean temperature of75°F have been raised. R- Values at mean temperatures lower than 75°F, such as such as 40°F, historically increased. However, polyiso blown with pentanes today have reduced R-value performance at 40°F and lower mean temperatures. This paper will address these concerns, review appropriate mean temperatures for North America, and offer several innovative solutions.
