Abstract
Results from research into the pressure distribution under a negative pressure uplift chamber used to conduct ASTM E907 in accordance with FM-1-52. The general purpose of this research was to answer conjecture within the roofing community about the validity of this test in regards to the difficulty, on many roofs, to achieve a seal and the resulting pressures under the chamber from air leakage during the test. More concisely, testing the entire sample area at the same pressure during a test or do leaks around the perimeter of the chamber lead to large pressure differences around the roof surface being tested.
