Abstract
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST, formerly National Bureau of Standards) and the National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA) are again proud to cosponsor this 9th Conference on Roofing Technology. These conferences have come to be regarded as the major forum for presenting the latest in roofing technology, and this 1989 conference will carry on that fine tradition. NIST/NRCA technical conferences began in 1969. They have been held in alternate years except in 1977 and 1985, when the First and Second International Symposia on Roofing Technology were held. In 1977, the symposium was cosponsored by NIST and NRCA, and in 1985, the two organizations had the cooperation of a third sponsor, the International Union of Testing and Research Laboratories for Materials and Structures (RILEM).
