To obtain a copy of a specific publication, users should contact the publication's publisher directly.

Abstract
This chapter is about insulation used on roofs and its interaction with roofing. Most roofs are insulated in one form or another. The insulation may be in direct contact with the roof decking or it may be between the ceiling joists. Insulation is used to keep heat or cold in a buiding so that the occupants of the building remain comfortable. A well insulated building iwll require far less heating and cooling energy expenditure than a noninsulated or poorly insulated building. The roofing contractor should inspect for proper insulation during a roofing job.
