Abstract
In 1998, Texas became the first state to provide homeowners with insurance discounts of up to 35% for hail resistant roofs. To quality, roofing materials must be tested in accordance with UL 2218 and be rated in one of four classes. In the following interview, Ron Bacon, loss prevention administrator for State Farm Insurance discusses the status of State Farm's hail program.
