Abstract
The attic space of a single wide manufactured home does not allow room for high levels of conventional insulation, especially at the eave edge. Based on the successful use of powder-evacuated panel (PEP) insulation in refrigerator walls where space is also cramped, it occued to us to try PEPs in the attic of a manufactured home. A cooperative research and development agreement with an east Tennessee manufacturer and a Tennessee university where several of the manufacturer's whole houses are to be teted outdoors over the next several years. the houses will have various heating/cooling systems and one house will have PEPs over the ceiling.
