Abstract
Prediction of the service life of modified bitumen roofing membrane materials is possible using the author's previous work and a little additional information. Design of roofing systems using the mechanical behavior of the materials is not the norm in the industry, but it must precede meaningful service life prediction. This combination will allow the design of roofing systems for any desired service life. The most economical and effective solution can be determined using engineering economic analysis.
