Abstract
commonly seen as seasonal or temporary, acceptance of contemporary tensile membrane roof structure as a bonafide building technology has been difficult, primarily due to false assumptions about their permeance, strength, durability, non-combustibility or enery efficiency. Using a 10-year old high-visibility project as a case study - Denver International Airport's Jeppesen Terminal - the article focuses on the terminal roof's architectural design, engineering, materials, fabricaion and construction.
