Abstract
Claims or requrest for additoinal time and compensation occur on most projects. However, claims do not have to become disputes and disputes do not have to evolve into arbitration or litigation. Owners must be aggressive concerning claims management and mitigation. Owners and contractors must learn how to refuse to be adversaries and how to finish projects in the field - not the courtroom. This article gives some newly developed techniques for preventing and making it easier to resolve claims.
