Remove or recover: A review of the alternatives

Abstract
Low slope roofs will fail and have to be replaced. How bet to deal with this reroofing task is the topic of this discussion: tear off or recover. Tear off will be considered to be the removal of the membrane and insulation; recover will be defined as leaving the membrane and insulation in place prior to reroofing.
