Ice is nice when it comes to testing residential roofing materials

Abstract
FMRC has drafted a new specification test standard (4473) for testing the hail resistance of residential roofing material. The propsed new standard uses actual ice balls to provide a more realistic test for hail impact than the traditional steel ball impact test used today.
