Abstract
This paper, presented at CRRELs First International Conference on Snow Engineering, examines the variability of snow loads on roofs which tend to be higher than than of the ground snow load. Factors which add to the variability are identified and discussed. The paper presents some techniques available to designers to improve estimates of snow loads on large flat roofs.
