Abstract
This is the final report of the project titled "Quantification of Air Intrusion in Mechanically Attached Roofing Systems for Building Code Recommendations". The project was initiated in 2009 and was a collaborative project between National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA), Canadian Roofing Contractors Association (CRCA) and National Research Council of Canada, with in-kind contribution from DOW roofing, Carlisle-Syntec, Firestone Building Products and Sika-Sarnafil. The objective of the present research is to measure air intrusion in mechanically attached roofing systems and understand its impact on the moisture loads. This additional research was to complement the SIGDERS research activity of air intrusion mainly from moisture management perspective to show how air intrusion expedites moisture transport and condensation in the membrane roofing systems.
