Abstract
The National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA) conducts two surveys each year to provide the roofing industry with information on market share trends and performance problems. NRCA's annual market survey provides information and business trends for commercial and residential roofing products and constructions. NRCA's Project Pinpoint offers information on trends in low-slope commercial roofing use. More important, it provides a procedure for the early identification of low-slope roofing problems. The paper has two objectives. First, it shows market share information on low-slope roof membrane materials use over a five-year span, 1986-1990. Next, it describes the use of Project Pinpoint data to identify problems experienced with low-slope roofing and to bring potentially serious problems to the attention of the roofing industry.
