Abstract
In 1983-84, the ASHRAE Standards Committee voted to establish project committees to develop two standards to replace ANSI/ASHRAE/IES Standard 90A-1980, ANSI/ASHRAE/IES Standard 90B-1975, and its addendum ANSI/ASHRAE/IES Standard 90A-a-1987. The first replacement standard (ASHRAE/IES 90.1-1989, Energy Efficient Design of New Buildings Except Low-Rise Residential Buildings) has been published. The second replacement (ASHRAE Proposed Standard 90.2P, Energy Efficient Design of New Low-Rise Residential Buildings) was submitted to a second public review closing July 14, 1990. Upon publication of 90.2, 90A-1980 and its addendum will be superceded by 90.1 and 90.2.
