Abstract
This report was prepared for the purpose of communicating the position taken by the Building Standards Committee, north and south, to the respective fire Prevention Officers Section Board of Directors. The information contained in this report should provide both the northern and southern boards guidance in recommending to the parent organization, California Fire Cheifs' Association, steps to mitigate those concerns expressed by the California Fire Service for the continued use of metal roof coverings over existing wood shingles or shake roofs.
