Abstract
Roofs for large industrial and warehouse buildings are too often found to be defective. Flat, sealed roofs are more likely to give trouble than inclined sheeted roofs but, where a sealed building is required, their problems must be faced and solved. Of the problem most frequently encountered, the following are discussed: failure due to high winds, condensation causing "simulated leaks", reduction of thermal insulation and unacceptable performance in fire incidents.
