Standard for hurricane resistant residential construction

Abstract
The prescriptive methods presented in this standard provide wind resistant designs and construction details for one- and two-story residential buildings of conventional wood-framed constructin, and one- two-, and three-story residential buildings of conventional concrete or masonry construction sited in high wind regions. The requirements are deemed to satisfy the wind load provisions of Section 1606 of the 1997 Standard Building Code (SBC) subject to the limitations in generic building geometry, siting location, materials and wind climate set forth herein.
