Abstract
Hurrican Iniki made landfall at Waimea, on the south eastern part of the island of Kauai on 9/11/92. More than $1.5 billion direct losses have been reported from this storm. A joint post-disaster investigation team conducted a field survey of the wind induced damage in the aftermath of Hurricane Iniki. This paper presents a consensus, to date, of the observations made by the team and should not be cuntrued as representingh the official positions or conclusions of any of the organizations represented.
