Abstract
Based upon the large number of reports of cracking and splitting of fiberglass shingles, MRCA sponsored a program at the Chicago Testing Lab in May 1993. Tear strength tests were run on all 20 and 25-year guaranteed glass and organic asphalt shingles available and applied in the greater Chicago area. The results of these tests are listed in this technical bulletin.
