Silicone Coating over Single-Ply Roofs - Lab Study

To obtain a copy of a specific publication, users should contact the publication's publisher directly.

Abstract
Single-ply roof membranes represent the predominant commercial roofing system currently in service. As the membranes age, the application of fluid-applied coatings has become an increasingly common strategy to extend their functional lifespan. The use of a coating offers multiple advantages. Notably, treated roof assemblies may qualify for enhanced warranties of up to twenty years from coating manufacturers (in some cases even more) while avoiding the need to meet updated energy codes that require a greater thickness of above-deck insulation.
