Abstract
In some countries crushed concrete and masonry waste are successfully recycled for use as aggregate in concrete. The construction industry worldwide is now being required to exploit this resource more effectively, principally because of the environmental benefits to be gained from recycling. This paper discusses the latest developments in the use and specification of recycled aggregates. It will be of interest to all those who work with concrete and aggregates, and also, to those who are concerened with recycling and environmental protection.
