Detailing drainage for bi-level copper roofing

Abstract
Copper is an expensive and laborintensive material for flat roofs and gutter liners, which must be fully soldered to remain watertight. When successfully designed and installed, copper roof assemblies can provide decades of service. Unfortunately, when it comes to perhaps the most critical design component of any internally drained roofing system -- the tie-in to the drain itself -- there is little guidance for designers.
