Abstract
Northern climates have always posed some unique challenges to all types of rooifng material. Roof design for sites that experience snowfall and freezing temperatures is an important consideration due to the special challenges this type of environment poses for the roof. This guide is meant to assist the designer in making prudent and informed decisions by an awareness of some general design parameters and snowmelt phenomena.
