Abstract
The factory applied coating on metal siding and roofing panels is a baked-on finish designed to provide trouble free performance for many years with minimum service required. When repainting metal siding and roof panels care must be taken to prepart the factgory applied finish and to assess the adhesion between this surface ad the coating to be used to repaint the panels. Polyester factory-applied coatings are standard technology and present the least difficulty in repainting. Polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) and plasitosol factory appled coatings require special precautions.
