Abstract
Three uncured elastomeric membranes were investigated as part of ongoing research into alternative roof systems for military construction. Literature, manufacturers' data and field applications were investigated to identify the properties and characteristics of chlorinated polyethylene (CPE), chlorosulfonated polyethylene (CSPE), and polyisobutylene (PIB), and the advantages and disadvantages associated with their use.
