Abstract
This report describes development of a practical test procedur for identifying differences in roofing asphalts which relate primarily to a change in the crude base or bases used in their production. Certain changes in refining procedure, as addition of ferric chloride in air-blowoing, or addition of lime to prevent corrosion, also would be expected to be revealed.
