What Are the Effects of Wind on Tile Roofs?

Abstract
Following are the results of wind tunnel studies showing the wind pressure distribution on pitched roofs and around individual tiles. This is an excerpt from a paper titled, "Wind Effects on Tiled Roofs - Wind Safety and Ventilation," written by Carl Kramer & Hans Gerhardt. It was presented at the 1991 International Symposium on Roofing Technology.
