Abstract
An interesting test to evaluate the performance of the waterproofing jobs carried out with membranes fully bonded to the support in the behavior to fatigue. This test is based on an alternate tensile movement and return, as mentioned in the UEAtc's directive concerning the waterproofing membrane. It has been realized that the testing method is extremely important to the purpose of obtaining a reliable result that may be reproduced so that the to and from cyclic tensile action must take place on a well-defined and constant area of membrane, because the fatigue is different each time in the negative, with the connected consequences. The fatigue tests must be carried out on both the new and the weathered product. The aim of the paper is to draw the attention to the present testing methods in accordance with the UNI Italian standards and to the most indicative weatherings, as well as to give a range of the already available results, together with other results that shall be available before the symposium is held.
