Abstract
This paper defines the performance requirements for a new generation of fire resistant roofing membranes, and describes a new system based on an expandable graphite modified polyester non woven. This system leasves intact the actural coating and uses a standard polyester non woven carrier. All membrane characteristics, manufacturing and application features remain at the same performance level. Fire ratings towards the 3 European draft norms are excellent, and are representative for real roof conditions.
