Snow damage to buildings in Poland 1968-1987

Abstract
This paper, presented at CRRELs First International Conference on Snow Engineering, deals with a period of 20 years there there were two winters in Poland with very heavy snowfalls. During those winters, snow loads on roofs were twice or much higher than predicted in the standard. Many failures to roofs were registered and some 75 cases from both winters were analyzed in detail. The paper deals with the results of this anlysis.
