Description
Requirements for buildings and buildings’ roof systems to resist tornados have been implemented into FM guidelines, ASCE 7-22 and IBC 2024. In some instances, these result in design tornado loads that are even greater than previous wind loads and hurricane loads. In this presentation, Graham will explain how tornados differ from other high-wind events and provide an overview of tornado-resistant design. It is not necessary to bring a calculator (though you can if you really want to).
