An applicant’s mentor must hold a leadership position in the applicant’s company. He or she must write a letter that:
- Explains why this is the ideal time in the applicant’s career to participate in FEI
- Confirms his or her commitment to support the applicant throughout the program by adjusting work schedules to attend classes and complete assignments; providing encouragement; being a resource; and spurring the timely submission of assignments
Applicants who do not have colleagues who can serve as mentors must identify someone outside their organizations who can fulfill the mentorship role. FEI emphasizes the importance of building a peer network and views establishing a mentor relationship as a crucial requirement for admission.
