CNA and NRCA presented the 2022 CNA/NRCA Community Involvement Award during the International Roofing Expo® at NRCA’s Industry Awards Ceremony and Cocktail Reception in New Orleans.
First place: Great Lakes Roofing Corp., Germantown, Wis.
CNA awarded first-place winner Great Lakes Roofing Corp. with $7,500 to be presented to Veterans Outreach of Wisconsin. In addition, NRCA dedicated the proceeds of its Cyber Monday sale in November 2021 to Veterans Outreach of Wisconsin.
Veterans Outreach of Wisconsin operates a village of 15 tiny homes that house military veterans who are at risk of homelessness or recovering out of homelessness. Great Lakes Roofing reroofed the building and did a company- and community-wide supplies drive to support Veterans Outreach of Wisconsin’s free grocery store for veterans and their families.
Second place: Sutter Roofing & Metal Co. Inc., Clarksburg, W.Va.
CNA awarded second-place winner Sutter Roofing & Metal Co. Inc., with $5,000 for its charitable efforts with Progressive Women’s Association of Harrison County.
Sutter Roofing & Metal Co., with assistance from Versico Roofing Systems, was able to donate materials, labor and equipment to replace the 5,000-square-foot roof for the Progressive Women’s Association of Harrison County, which sponsors a food pantry and pet pantry and hosts women of distinction.
Third place: Empire Roofing, Fort Worth, Texas
CNA awarded third-place winner Empire Roofing with $2,500 for its charitable efforts with Iglesia San Miguel church.
Iglesia San Miguel is a church that supports the underprivileged Latino community in Fort Worth, Texas. Empire Roofing provided lunch and snacks for more than 150 children from Glen Park Elementary.
In addition, CentiMark Corp., Canonsburg, Pa., was the winner of the People’s Choice Award, which was selected by public voting on NRCA’s website. CentiMark Corp. received $1,500 for its work with the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh Foundation.
