Abstract
As a result of complaints from member contractors in 1991, WSRCA circulated an Asphalt Shingle Problem questionnaire to its members to determine if there was a problem with asphalt shingles. In early 1992, WSRCA initiated a test program at the Chicago Testing Laboratory to check the physical properties of the asphalt fiberglass shingles to determine if they meet the minimum requirements contained in ASTM D 3642, "Standard specification for asphalt shingles made from glass felt made with mineral granules."
