Abstract
Asbestos can be dangerous to living creatures but the danger levels sharply diminish when you control the type of asbestos used, how it is handled and hot it is combined with other ingredients. Roof coatings and cements meet all of these requirements because they use only chrsotile fibers encapsulated in resilient materials, such as asphalt, latex or rubber. This article takes a closer look at what asbestos actually "is" and how we are affected by it.
