Abstract
Over the last twenty years, single ply roofing has steadily gained popularity in the non residential roofing market. Due to its track record of positive performance, it has become, for manya specifiers and installers, the system of choice. This article describes the three main types of single plies manufactured: thermosets, thermoplastics and modified bitumens. It also goes on to breifly explain the three methods for installing those sytems: loose laid ballasted, fully or partially adhered and mechanically fastened.
