National Women in Roofing (NWIR) has announced the recipients of its first-ever NWIR Day scholarships; the scholarships are for first-time attendees to NWIR Day, the 2019 International Roofing Expo® (IRE) and NRCA's 132nd Annual Convention in Nashville, Tenn.
The program is designed to encourage first-time attendees who work for contractors to experience the benefits of professional development in the roofing industry; attendance at these events can influence one's career trajectory and benefit not just the attendee but her company and employer.
The 2019 recipients are Veronica Licona, KMA Roofing, Vero Beach, Fla; Meredith Marsh-Shaevitz, Pitch Perfect Roofing, Oklahoma City; Kristy Lynch, Rayco Construction, Oakdale, Minn.; and Jennifer Wrightson, Rockwell Roofing, Leominster, Mass.
Scholarship benefits include attendance at NWIR Day, NRCA's Industry Awards Ceremony and Cocktail Reception, a pass to the trade show and a Super Pass to education sessions; hotel accommodations from Friday, Feb. 8, through Wednesday, Feb. 13; roundtrip airfare; and a host/mentor assigned through the NWIR mentoring program.
The second NWIR Day will be held in Nashville on Saturday, Feb. 9, immediately before IRE opens.
