What do you think is the most crucial step to addressing the industry’s labor shortage? Three NRCA members share their answers.
I believe we need to get control of our southern borders so we can get immigration reform passed. Without a secured border, we should not expect members of Congress to move forward on this issue.

I think a great way to reach the young potential new roofing workers is through social media and highlighting the great benefits of working in our industry. We must reach our youth where they are—online!

Immigration reform must be addressed in such a manner to help increase potential labor sources. The reform needs to provide a legal path to protect employees and employers from illegal immigration laws that cannot be adhered to because of burdensome legislation and processing. A commonsense path that provides access to immigrant labor pools without cumbersome regulations and allows government administrators to process in a timely fashion must be a priority.
