NRCA and CNA, Chicago, have announced Four Seasons Kanga Roof, Roseville, Mich., as the grand-prize winner of the CNA/NRCA Community Involvement Award for its charitable efforts with the Evan Vaillancourt, Army Specialist, Legacy Fund Scholarship; the award honors charitable works performed by NRCA contractor members between Jan. 1, 2024, and Nov. 1, 2024.
After Evan Vaillancourt, an Army specialist, passed away suddenly while on active duty, leaving his wife and their 1-year-old son behind, Four Seasons Kanga Roof raised money for a scholarship; Vaillancourt’s older brother, Mason, is a member of the Four Seasons Kanga Roof sales team. Four Seasons Kanga Roof employees successfully raised $250,000 to fund the scholarship, which will be awarded annually. It will cover more than 80% of a student’s yearly tuition and is intended for students with financial need whose parents are active or former military members. CNA awarded Four Seasons Kanga Roof with $7,500 for the scholarship.
The second-place winner was Bliss Roofing, Clackamas, Ore., for its charitable efforts with Catalyst Partnerships. After learning Catalyst Partnerships received eight submissions from community members in need of new roofs but could fund only five, Bliss Roofing stepped up to help and donated a roof to one of the runners-up. CNA awarded Bliss Roofing with $5,000 for its charity.
The third-place winner was Korellis, Hammond, Ind., for its work with The Blind Social Center. Korellis partnered with The Blind Social Center, an organization that enriches the lives of the blind and visually impaired by offering specialized training, socialization opportunities and community resources. Korellis donated the labor and materials required to install a 4,700-square-foot high-quality roof system on the organization’s facility. CNA awarded Korellis with $2,500 for its charity.
The first-, second- and third-place awards were presented Feb. 20 at the NRCA 2025 Industry Awards and Reception in San Antonio.
Additionally, the winner of the People’s Choice category was chosen via online voting. Transcona Roofing Ltd., Winnipeg, Manitoba, won the People’s Choice Award for its work with United Way Winnipeg through financial contributions, employee involvement and maintenance work for United Way agency partners; about 80% of employees participate in a payroll deduction donation program, which Transcona Roofing matches. CNA awarded Transcona Roofing with $1,500 for its charity.
