Is your hiring process causing you to lose talent?

Job seekers seem to have less patience with hiring processes and know they are in demand. So it is important you ensure your company’s hiring process is not costing you good candidates.

Harvard Business Review recommends asking yourself the following questions.

  • Am I committing to a decision fast enough? Most applicants lose interest in a job just two weeks after the first interview. Look for ways to thoughtfully speed up your process and eliminate wasted time.
  • Am I sharing enough information about company culture? Informing candidates about the company and role is as important as learning about their skills and experience. Each step of your hiring process should reflect your culture so job seekers can evaluate whether your company is a good fit.
  • Is my communication timely, respectful and valuable? In addition to respecting candidates’ time, consider providing genuine feedback to each candidate at the end of the interview process. This is a relatively easy way to provide value to all candidates—even the ones who do not get the job.
