CPWR webinar will address struck-by hazards

CPWR—The Center for Construction Research and Training will hold a webinar, Struck-by Hazards, Barriers, and Opportunities in the Construction Industry, Dec. 1 at 2 p.m. EST.

CPWR is developing a pilot planning program to prevent struck-by incidents in construction that will include a step-by-step planning guide to prevent injuries from heavy equipment, passenger vehicles, cranes, falling or flying objects, and other struck-by hazards. CPWR’s Research to Practice program conducted a survey to explore causes of struck-by injuries, barriers to prevention, and ways to raise awareness and ensure use of safe practices; learn about measures being taken to protect workers; and gain insights regarding the role of planning in prevention and the motivators, resources and support needed to prevent incidents.

During the webinar, members of the Research to Practice team will review findings from the survey and share information about the pilot program and how to participate in testing it.
