Texas added the most construction jobs from November 2021 to December 2021—10,400—and West Virginia had the largest percentage increase of construction jobs for the month—4.6%. Florida lost the largest number of construction jobs (-3,400) for the month, and Alabama and Rhode Island had the largest percentage decline (0.9%).
Twenty-three states and Washington, D.C., added construction jobs from February 2020 to December 2021. Utah added the most jobs—10,000—and South Dakota had the largest percentage increase during that period—10.5%. New York lost the most construction jobs from February 2020 to December 2021 (-42,000 jobs), and Louisiana had the largest percentage decline (-12.6%).
