Spearheaded by the National Center for Construction Education and Research and its Build Your Future initiative, the 11th annual Careers in Construction Month is being held in October to raise awareness about career opportunities in construction and inspire the next generation of craft professionals, according to NCCER.
Build Your Future provides various ways to get involved, including filing an official proclamation and submitting a video to the I BUILT THIS! video contest.
Build Your Future also is asking the construction industry to pledge its support and make a dedicated effort to connect with students. For signing the pledge, companies will be entered into a drawing to win one of five $1,000 scholarships to support secondary craft training programs. Take the pledge.
